Spanish Language Courses in Spain and Ecuador

University Preparation

Estudio Sampere will have a new programme during 2011 to offer all students the
possibility of entering the Spanish Educational System.

This programme includes:

  • Spanish intensive course for minimum 12 weeks up to level B1.
  • 30 weeks of “University Foundation Course”.
  • Registration for Selectividad Exam.
  • Academic support during all the courses.
  • Spanish public universities have very affordable fees (Medicine €1300/year, Business
€800/year) and have available places in most of the offered Bologna study programmes
(4 years of studies except for Medicine and Engineering). Your students can easily
access a Spanish public university following this programme.

Language Training

Estudio Sampere will take care of this part of the programme and students must reach
an upper intermediate level (B1) before joining the University Foundation Course.
Selectividad is the name of the exam that all Spanish and foreign students have to
take in order to gain access to the different universities. The exam takes place each
year in June and September. We strongly advise students to take the June exam.
Only if they fail, should they consider the option of taking the exam in September.

To take the exam, students must have:

  • A high school degree from their country (recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education).
  • 18 years of age during that year.
  • B2 Spanish Level.
  • D type Visa (more than 90 days of stay).

Calendar

  • June 2011 to June 2012. The student will enter the University of his/her choice in
    September 2012.
  • June 2011 to Oct 2011: Language Training course with Estudio Sampere until the
student reaches a B1 language level.
  • Oct 2011 to June 2012: University Foundation Course at Mirasierra Study Centre
which is the most prestigious selectividad preparation centre in Madrid.
  • June 2012: Selectividad Exam. 90% of the candidates pass the exam, so our
students should not be an exception. Based on the grade achieved in the exam,
the student can enter the University of his/her choice.
  • June 2012 to September 2012: Registration at the university.
Estudio Sampere has a signed agreement with Mirasierra Study Centre in order to
    place our students.

University Foundation Course

There are two options (Sciences and Humanities).
Each option offers different subjects depending on the student’s future university
choice. If the student plans to study Medicine or an Engineering degree, the student
has to do the Science branch. For Law, Business or Art degrees, you have to study
Humanities.
Each option has a different schedule of classes.

The Selectividad exam has two different parts:

1. General Exam:

  • Language and Literature.
  • History or Philosophy.
  • Foreign languages (French, English or German).
  • Subject depending on the University Degree chosen. (Technical Drawing, Economics, and Biology).

2. Specific Exam:

  • 1st optional test, to improve the grade.
The student chooses a topic from his High School.
  • 2st optional test, to improve the grade.
The student chooses a topic from his High School.

The grades:

To enter Spanish public universities, the student has to achieve a minimum pass grade.
